According to reports, the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sunusi II, has stripped the eldest son of late Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, Lamido Bayero, of his traditional title of Ciroman Kano and District Head of Gwale. According to Premium Times, a few months after ascending the throne, Emir Sanusi wrote to Bayero asking him to return to his duty as Ciroman Kano and District Head of Gwale but he got no reply from the late former Emir's son and neither did he report to the palace, which angered Sanusi.
