Photo of British Muslim kept in a cage by dad because of her “un-Islamic” lifestyle
This is the first picture of a British schoolgirl who was caged up for four years by her DAD because of her “un-Islamic” behaviour.
SunUK reports Amina Al-Jeffery, who was born in Swansea and is now 21 years old, has been beaten and starved by her father, Mohammed Al-Jeffery, since she was 16.
The Foreign Office is trying to bring Amina back to the UK amid fears for her safety – but the Saudi government has given Mr Al-Jeffery funding to fight the High Court’s order to return her.
The 21-year-old was moved to Saudi Arabia five years ago and held as prisoner at her dad’s home
because he did not agree with her western lifestyle.
The 62-year-old, who works at the King Abdulaziz University, was told to take his daughter to the British consulate in Jeddah to meet her lawyers.
But he refused to unless the Foreign Office vowed not to grant her “sanctuary”.
At an earlier meeting the 21-year-old managed to slip a note under the table to a member of embassy staff allegedly saying she feared for her future.
Ms Hutchinson, a member of the international Academy of Family Lawyers, said: “She is a normal Welsh girl and still has her Welsh accent.
“She wants to return home so she can have control of her own life and make her own choices.”
But Marcus Scott-Manderson, QC, representing Mr Al-Jeffery said he “could not bring himself” to obey the court order.
Mr Justice Holman said that the jurisdiction of the British courts was not clear because Amina was now an adult with dual Saudi and UK citizenship.
He said: “We have to be careful about asserting the supremacy our cultural standards.”
Mr Al-Jeffery had moved to Swansea before Amina was born, and the family claimed benefits while his nine children were educated at British schools and universities.
The hearing continues.
