The current Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II and his wife Olori joined other dignitaries including Gen Dipo Diya, wife of former Vice President Titi Abubakar, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Osun state deputy governor Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, former Oyo state governor Adebayo Alao-Akala and others attended his first year memorial service which held at the St Paul's Church Ayegbaju in Ile Ife.   Alhaja Zainab Asari Dokubo, the first wife of Mujahid Dokubo Asari, is dead. She died alongside a friend in a motor accident on her way to Ibadan. Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, chairman Oyo state Muslim community, who confirmed the death in a statement said Zainab was already a Muslim years before she married Dokubo.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly dumping her two-hour-old newborn baby inside a plastic bag and running away.  She abandoned her baby in a pink plastic bag that was later spotted by shocked locals in Wangjiaoqiao village, south-west China. The child whose gender was not revealed, was rushed to hospital by police for emergency treatment but did not survive.

Operatives of 9th mile Division of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested and charged a 26-year old suspect for stealing cars. The suspect identified as one Chinedu James from Emene Enugu state has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stealing a Cherry Tiggo Jeep with registration NO FA 211 EKY from where parked. The suspect who is also known as NWA-EMENE on July 6th at Destiny layout Emene Enugu allegedly stole one Mercedez 190 with registration number UGB 243 AA.

After the president of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte's declared a bloody war on illegal drugs and gave the directive for the police to kill drug dealers, it has been a free for all for the Filipino police and vigilantes. In his first state of the nation address to parliament Mr Duterte, said that drugs were 'drowning his country' and had to be stopped at all costs. 'Double your efforts.
